As businesses move ever faster into the online marketplace, the number of things you end up needing (and paying for…) is growing at an ever-increasing clip. Between your essentials like phones and internet and keeping the lights on, all the way down to coffee filters, it seems there’s never an end to the number of things for which you must shell out the greenbacks.
But there are still a few things out there that, while still making things easier for the business owners that take advantage of them, are absolutely free to use. And I think we can all agree, next to the sound of laughing babies and a country thunderstorm, there are few things in the world that sound as pretty as the sound of the word “free”. Here’s just a few of them:
While we’re sure that you’ve likely seen or even used these things before, we hope you understand the power that something like this suite of software brings to the table. It gives even the most occasional user the ability to become as mobile as their heart desires, as the only thing you need to access all of these systems is an internet connection. With cloud-based storage for added security and the ability to share any and all work with as many co-workers as you wish, it’s a wonder more businesses don’t take advantage of Google’s free office suite.
If you’re a business that needs to be able to keep track of your customers, you’ve likely come across a Customer Relationship Management software (a.k.a. CRM) at least once. And, almost without fail, you’ve had that I-nearly-fainted moment when companies like Salesforce or Netsuite told you the cost for even the most basic plan. The beautiful part of this system is that it’s totally free for you and nine of your employees… forever. And free doesn’t mean lesser, at least not here. You can manage prospects and clients, organize activities, even integrate it to your site to automatically capture client info and send it to you in the form of a lead.
A touchy subject, managing your business finances is one of those things that generally drives most business owners to the aisle with the headache meds. However, managing your finances with something like Mint is easy and headache-free. After giving it access to your financials (we promise, they’re secure… put the baseball bat down…) It will automatically track your spending, your financial goals, and give you alerts and reports on everything, all without spending a dime on the software itself.
This is just a small number of examples of how many things there are out there that a business can utilize for absolutely no money. There are many more, so don’t be afraid to look for them. Business owners need all the help they can get.
